2023 half of the Rainforest is gone! Now adding 15 billion metric tons of un accounted for carbon dioxide. The worlds total emissions are not 36 billion tons per year. They are closer to 50.
Brazil gets around $3 million per year from deforestation permits.
The good news!
Peru stopped deforestation in 2020. When Brazil stops the organic decay will finish in three years and it will switch back to and Oxygen producer and carbon dioxide sink. We will get back over 100 billion tons of photosynthesis. This will drain the atmosphere of carbon dioxide like a bathtub.
